Since recreational legalization, many cannabis farms have silently cultivated for large brands, who take credit for their flower. For many farmers who have honed their craft since before recreational legalization, their lives were often literally on the line for their harvest. Gardenhouse wanted to create a brand that gave those farmers, the backbone of the cannabis industry, a spotlight for their dedication, risk, and artistry. With this idea, Calavera was born. The Calavera is a symbol of rebirth and Gardenhouse believes it is time for the cannabis industry to turn back towards transparency and be reborn into a community that gives credit where credit is due.
